Director: Garth Davis
Dav Patel, Nicole Kidman, Rooney Mara
A sweet, heart warming flick about a orphan returning to his birth land to find his long, lost family. Yet another true story about determination, restlessness, and emotional strife. "Saroo" played by Dav Patel is lost at a train station after he takes a nap. After Saroo wakes up he searches for his brother, which we learn later is killed by a train. Saroo is later adopted by "Sue" played by Nicole Kidman and her hubby "John" played by Dave Wenham. Of course Saroo grows up and decides to find his mother and brother back in India. A definite chick flick so be prepared for the tears. One note, Kidman doesn't deserve a nomination for Oscar. This flick has her gorgeous presence for only 30 minutes. The Oscar should go to Viola Davis for "Fences".
